School me on new Fender amps: Blues Deluxe vs Vibrolux 68

Re: School me on new Fender amps: Blues Deluxe vs Vibrolux 68

The HR series never did anything for me. BJ,hr dlx, deville, whatever....I just dont feel they do the Fender thing justice.

The Blues Deluxe is pretty sweet for the price, but I am very partial to the Silverface 68s. I have played the twin and deluxe and am very impressed. I like both tone stacks, and the speaker I think is a better choice if you are rocking out, via volume, or pedals. Id love to grab the princeton as it would suit my needs best.

Durability is a BIG factor to me..........................

And new Fender....does not go hand in hand!
This is typical internet gossip blown way out of proportion. Yes, Fender has at times, had some quality issues, but not so much durability as infant mortality. The current trend seems to be improved after an outbreak a couple of years back. But people love to 'pile on' and bash, even if it's only something they've read and not experienced. And that makes it appear even worse.

One thing that isn't really arguable is Fender's outstanding Warranty and network of authorized repair points (probably one very close to 'you'). The issues that I referred as 'infant mortality' were fixed at no cost and rarely recurred. Yeah I know, it shouldn't have happened in the first place, but they stepped up and made it right.

I suffered through one such incident a couple years back with the Supersonic 22, but I would not hesitate to buy another new Fender should I have another GAS attack.:D

.......Since when am I saying stuff about something I have not tried myself?
Don't get defensive and over sensitive. I made a statement regarding a large number of comments and ".....people love to 'pile on' and bash, even if it's only something they've read and not experienced. And that makes it appear even worse." If you're not one of those, just ignore it, if you are, think about it. I have no idea whether you are or aren't.

If you're looking for a verbal battle, I'm not into that. :beerchug:

You called him out by quoting his post and using it as an example of "internet gossip". Neils has alot of experience with modern Fender amps. You are the one who is out of line here.

Well, I've had terrible experiences with Chrysler Products–3 new vehicles (Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2 Dodge Chargers) that had transmission and break problems (the Jeep unfortunately was in the shop 11 times in 9 months) resulting in my never buying another Chrysler product. However, I know people who have old and new Chrysler vehicles with no issues and love them.

To me, I've seen the abuse that old and new Fenders have taken and still play like nothing happen (amps and Strats.) As rough as my MIA Hot Rod Deluxe and (former, now my dad's) MIA Strat Deluxe were gigged by previous owners and still play like top notch instruments, then I personally will say Fender makes incredible gear that holds up extremely well! (my old MIM Strat was a solid guitar, I reckon it would take a beating and survive too.)

If someone has had several issues with Fender then I say that is unfortunate BUT they will not change my view of the quality just like I won't change theirs.
