Scored some nice vintage preamp tubes in auction

Hey just wanted to say I scored some nice vintage preamp tubes on an auction today I won 3 and for great prices. One is a vintage Tung-Sol tall plate/a vintage RCA by GE 12ax7A/vintage Hammond by GE 12ax7 tall plate D getter.I also recently got a 1966 5751 JAN GE tube also for nice price. I love the sound of these older tubes.

The old stuff is the good stuff. It's when tubes were the standard. I came across a stable of Telefunken 12ax7's, and they have been my go to preamp tube. I love 'em.

Cool beans bro. I love all my old tubes. They make the amp sound just like the original records. Nothing else does that.

Just got a 1960's Sylvania 12at7 blackplate for a really good price also. lol Im addicted.

I've raided many of my best tubes from amps I bought and sold over the years, but here's where I really got lucky. Several years ago, my boss was buying up vintage movie cameras from the studios. The only purpose was to strip them and chrome plate them for display in corporate lobbies. I got to open them all up and raid the tubes. I got a lot of great pre tubes and EL-84's from that.

I might have a 1958 5751 BLACKPLATE tube for 30 bucks its the same style tube SRV used in his amps.

Keep your eyes open for old stock Mazda Belvu 12AX7's. It stood out among my box of preamp tubes, so it went straight into the 1st position of my Matchless Chieftain. It took an already great sounding amp and made it more perfect.

Many of those were made by Telefunken...do they have a diamond on the bottom, Joe?

Mullard and Telefunken made alot of tubes under different brand names, including US brands.
