if they make a cheaper version of the black one i might have to get it (stock with El Diablo!)

Re: Scott Ian Washburns

Those are way sweeter than his Jackson signature. Those things always looked kind of cheap to me. I still wish it had a neck pup though.

Re: Scott Ian Washburns

I don't dig the camo, but the other two are really sweet looking. I would play that. Especially if there were a neck pickup involved.

Re: Scott Ian Washburns

Not bad but I still prefer the early JJ-1's ... or the old Scott Ian tribal :32:

Re: Scott Ian Washburns

I like all those except the urban camo. Blech! Hate that on everything hehe.

Re: Scott Ian Washburns

man.. WTF is it with the butt ugly signature axes nowadays? first mustaine.. then hetfield with that crappy paint job, now Scott geez

Re: Scott Ian Washburns

Very Sweet, Scott Ian knows how to make a signature guitar.
Rock On :smoker:

when/why did he leave Jackson?

He still uses Jackson (at least from the recent concert photo's I've seen) along with the New Jacksons. But he started using these Washburns (I think) over last Summer ... At least I remember seing him using them in some photos of a European festival that occured last summer

As for why he switched - I know Dave was having mis-givings over the AR over at Jackson. Dave, Marty, Scott are no longer with Jackson? Makes me think that maybe something is up with Artist Relations over there

Re: Scott Ian Washburns

Dave Mustaine left Jackson because they dissed him when the company went up for sale. He was a serious potential buyer and was about to get the company when they were bought out by Fender at the last minute. He was pissed about that, so he left and went to ESP.

I think Scott Ian just got a better endorsement deal. He's already endorsed by Randall and both Randall and Washburn are owned by the same company, so why not make things easier and just use both?

sounds like dime

Re: Scott Ian Washburns

However, after Cryptic Writings Dave did state in an interview that he didn't have a positive feeling with Jackson at the time and was considering leaving during that period. I do believe there was more at hand than Jackson being bought out by Fender, partially because I don't believe that Dave had enough money on his own to purchase Jackson completely.

Re: Scott Ian Washburns

I think his Jackson was soooo much better looking (except for the cheezy "Jackson" script on the headstock). Those things are just plain fugly!

Oh yeah and that "cut off switch"? What was the point of that?

Re: Scott Ian Washburns

That probably is one of the ugliest guitars I've ever seen. Just my opinion though.
For those that do like it, go for it!

Re: Scott Ian Washburns

I like it. I like the Jackson, too. Another newer Washburn sig I really like is Jon Donais's "Facemelter" or whatever it's called. :)
