Screamin' Demon pairing realization

Re: Screamin' Demon pairing realization

Didn't George pair it with a Quarter Pound at one time? I believe Arwin mentioned that awhile ago. I've got a Lil Demon paired up with 2 QPs and they work great together.

I'll bet a Demon would be killer paired with a FSn.

THat is an exceptional idea. I do like the FSn and it would match the output of the Demon very nicely. I will consider that for my next HH guitar.

Please, post some clips when you do.

If I did that I would have to replace a row of hex screws with flat heads cut flush with the baseplate just to match the aesthetic between the pickups.

Re: Screamin' Demon pairing realization

I would be more than willing to bet that MJ/SD wound him a "prototype" for the Lynch Mob "Wicked Sensation" album. That album definitely has the tone of that pickup. It definitely does not have the tone of the Dokkenbucker. Even though it became a production model in 1991, I am sure George was using it in 1990.

Re: Screamin' Demon pairing realization

With all due respect, I absolutely love the Screamin' Demon. Could be my favorite medium output pickup of all time. It is truly unique in its tone and versatility. I would imagine it would go well with a Full Shred Neck, APH-1N, Pearly Gates Neck, Or maybe even a Jazz if you like them (i dont care for the Jazz myself).

Re: Screamin' Demon pairing realization

At the end of the day (or night), IMO, the Demon is a 59 wound hot with as much treble as possible without being ceramic.

It's like a Full Shred for guitars that are not bass heavy. And Mr. Lynch, does indeed shred!

This is the exact ESP Skulls and Snakes guitar I played a few years back and STILL WANT now!! If only...I like the HS layout as it's just like the base model MII which is my fav ESP. That and the Horizon a close second.
I remember being impressed with the pickup choice albeit I may have felt a little lack of bass on the bridge at the time. I'd probably like it more now since I did consider it for my San Dimas which is soooo '80's :)
