Scriptify

Got me a killer like new Rochester Orange Box a few weeks ago. Havent had much time to make a clip but have been playing the **** out of it. Finally got to make one today. As the owner of an original Script many moons ago, I am really picky about phasers. Small Stone is a completely different animal. I used an old BOSS MIJ for several years, but that too never quite sounded right. Nothing ever compared all that well to that original pedal. It was powerful, but mellow at the same time. None of the newer MXRs sound right to me...even the EVH and Script reissue have a weird midrangey thing going on, and dont quite sweep the same as the old one. I just could not find the right phase.

til now. Killer pedal. If you are into VH1, this is your pedal. If you are into old school Dave Murray, this is your pedal. Billy Gibbons..yup. Rory Gallagher..uh huh.. Steve Hunter, right on. If you are into ANY 70s MXR phase tones, this is your pedal. True bypass, handmade in the states and designed by the dude who designed the original MXR stuff. Price is very reasonable new, but they are hard to find used.

here is the clip, some weird downtuney improv riff stuff, classics, and then just the guitar and amp goofing (which is Captain Crunch, a Marshall Class 5 cranked, through a V30 cab, no other pedals, this all amp gain).

That sounds great Jeff. Definitely has that 70s vibe nailed.

Thanks buddy - now I want one of those! :yell:

Re: Scriptify

Simon, you are very welcome :)

IDK how much they will run you over yonder but here they are roughly the same $ as the MXR script reissue. I lucked out and found this one on the Tele forums barely used for $55 less.

Way cool pedal. So cool, I am having to do a major gear sell off, and this is the only pedal I am keeping. If peeps are in need of a Phaser, put it on your list.

FREEBIRD!!!!!!!!

That sounds awesome, bro. If I'm ever in the market for a new phaser, I know where I'm looking first.

Re: Scriptify

Heh..my whimsical tribute to Skynrd. Now that I have a proper PC thanks to my brother, once I get a guitar mic and some inexpensive recording software, Ill be able to record some real clips and not just noodle around aimlessly.
