SD Pickup wiring changes Tone ? Please advise

Hi all,
To cut a long story short, I bought a (22 fret) Jackson about a year and a half ago and It had a SD Distortion in the bridge and sounded really nice and good tone. The Neck pickup was an original Jackson one so I got a SD Jazz for it.

I wired everything the way the SD Digram showed and after, I seemed to have lost that wonderful tone I once had in the Bridge Distortion Pickup.

Lucky, I always draw a Wiring digram of the Original before replacing, It seems the Green wire was swapped with the black.

Can anyone explain if the original wiring would be efficant and maybe why the sound changed from good tone to sounding like my JB in my 24 fret ibanez.

the black and green wires are the hot and ground so if you flip them you are just changing phase of the pups. no big deal as long as they are wired the same way. have you changed the heights of the pup? that can make a big difference in the tone

I always have them pretty high, Not really high but slightly more than usual.

So as long as there both wired the same it doesn't matter ? Thats ok I may re-wire them back to how they were
