SD “Ramjet” humbucker?

Hi all,

I was looking around a music shop and happened to spot a Seymour Duncan custom shop pickup. It’s used but in pretty good shape. Curiosity got the best of me and I bought it. I’ve never heard of “Ramjet” model…box that it came in is pretty rough but looks like it was wound by MJ. The merchant didn’t know what model it is but someone had traded it in towards a pedal.

Google search of Ramjet pickup turns up nothing useful that I can find. Anyone heard of this model or have any idea what it could be based on?

I don’t have a multimeter to test it but the guy in the shop did and it read 16.5k. I plan to have it put into a Charvel at some point. Any information would be welcome!

The name could be given to the pickup by the person who originally ordered it from SD.

Now did you get the pickup and when can we expect a review of it.

When you order a Custom Shop pickup, you can name it whatever you want. From the labels, looks like it's a modified George Lynch Super V, but unless you measure it and check the magnets, don't know in what way it was modified.

Could be something like a JB with a different EQ. I bet if no one knows here, you can send a message with pics to the Custom Shop. They keep pretty good records.

Its been awhile since I've done it but thats exactly what I've done in the past, I've even ordered pickups from the CS by asking them to make me the same thing that they made for another person. They are pretty accommodating and should be able to tell what the pickup is.
