SD single coil wiring color code

Silly question but......

Is the wiring color code for single coils
White = HOT?
Black =Ground?

I noticed that for my bridge humbucker the Black is the hot so I wanted to be sure before I solder these babies in my strat.

Yes. (White is hot for singles.) I'm not sure why they do this other than for "authentic" compatability.
