Aceman
I am your doctor of love!
All right - based on suggestions from earlier this season, the first of a NEW category! This is experimental, so we'll see how it goes...
This category is EXACTLY what it sounds like. The criteria are as follows:
#1 The guitar submitted MUST have been purchased at a pawn shop. There are no limitations on brand, style, relic'd, beater, whatever, etc...ONLY that the purchase be from a pawn shop. I do not need to see a receipt. This will be based on TRUST.
#2 Value WILL be a factor. I want to know the ACTUAL price paid. So if you bought a 2012 Les Paul Standard for $1800, fine. But it had better be an AMAZING LP!!!!. However, a choice 1986 Hamer Californian bought for $150 will impress. But again - it is not necessarily bargain, nor guitar.
#3 Give us a little background about the purchase; Haggling? How found? Length of search? Hang time? Just a little back story about the purchase. Whatever you think is impressive or noteworthy, in addition to #2 above.
So, if you snagged a beat to crap ES-344 that hadn't seen the light of day in 30 years for a song - great! If you got a killer deal on a rare PRS - awesome! If you found your Excalibur one day after a decade of looking - fantastic. Or if it just had mojo/vibe etc. - let's see it!
#4 I WILL Accept Craigslist and garage sales; HOWEVER - Pawnshop takes precedence over those (maybe). So - when posting start the post with a big capital PAWNSHOP or CRAIGSLIST or GARAGE SALE
I will make judgement calls on all other situations as they arise. I WILL be entering this category also!!!! Conflict of interest? Perhaps. Then again, even if I enter myself in the top 10, I still need the votes and I don't control that.
