SDUG ULTIMATE AXE - Category 7; Pawn Shop Prize!

Re: SDUG ULTIMATE AXE - Category 7; Pawn Shop Prize!

There is the chance that the "must currently be owned" might cross out a lot of scores that have gone on to be money makers after owned and then sold. I have a couple worth WAY more than I paid for them. Not ready to sell any of those, yet. :headbang:

I'm sure when Star sells eventually I will get more than the $175 I originally paid but have spent that about 4 times on it already since. When it gets back from Ben I bet it will be really ready to RAWK!!!

My only other one has a replacement(scalloped) neck,so I guess it qualifies as a Parts-O...

edit:
FWIW,did score a VS-100 like Aceman's for about $150...

Dudn't really apply, just throwin' it out there...

closing soon....

WTF? You guys don't go scrounging awesome deals?

Surprised at this also bro. Man I have made out like a bandit in pawn Shops over the years!
Out of all of them though the PRS was my best real world gigging guitar purchase!

I'm throwing down in this one.

Dean DOA Cadillac 2003 Silverburst

Every year Dean guitars usually does a special guitar for the DOA members. I had been GASing hard for a Silverburst and giving a particulalr well known Dean board member grief because he had two and I had none. Well, I walked into a pawn shop nearby just making the usual rounds just before New Years 2012 and there, hanging, was a Silverbirst DOA Limited edition model! (#18 of like 50 or so). Nearly 10 years old and super clean. And not only that, but the original bridge pup had been replaced with a Duncan! I talked the guy down to $260 for the guitar and a cheap gig bag. I mean, it wasn't the original pup, you know... My Birthday was coming up three weeks later and DOA in another month! The pup was a JB (now a JB8). PLayed Detroit Rock City on it that year.

BTMN can confirm. Threads are on the Dean board of me running smack at Bradworld for hoarding Silverbursts. Bite me @$$clown. Why am I defending myself to you?

Re: SDUG ULTIMATE AXE - Category 7; Pawn Shop Prize!

I was hoping for more pawn shop guitars :( I fiure I could bump this thread with some pron and a ebay find that isn't a guitar.

Found this doing a uncommon search. It was listed as "80's Flod Ros" yah not the best spelling, maybe the seller was in a hurry. I ended up with a Floyd Rose for $64 lol The guitar it went on:

Unfortunately, if you created a topic to who has LOST more stuff to a pawn shop, Id own it hands down. The best score I had is my 1988 Japanese Squier Statocaster that I scored for $139. She was all stock when I got her and the pups were crummy and she had a single ply white pickguard. On the positive, she plays amazing, and it came with a fender branded Kahler trem and locking nut. Ive upgraded with dunlop straplocks, a better guard and Bill Lawrence Keystone pickups.
Here she is: (black one)
