Sentient and Pegasus PUs on Warmoth Jazzmaster

Hey there everybody!

I am planning on ordering parts from Warmoth to put together a Jazzmaster.

My intended configurations are 2 humbucker pickups, 12" radius fretboard, and a Tune-O-Matic fixed bridge (I am not a big fan of the original bridge). The pickups I am thinking about putting in are the Seymour Duncan Sentient and Pegasus.

I have played around with several different kinds of Jazzmasters from vintage ones to Squier ones. When playing them sitting down, they feel super comfortable.

My only gripe with those Jazzmasters when cranking up some distortion are the LOUD hums. They hum even louder than P90s.

Then I found out about the Sentient and Pegasus pickups from Seymour Duncan. I heard that these pickups can output beautiful cleans and that they can still handle distortion wonderfully as well.

It would also make recording much more easy (and just practicing in general) without having to resort to external noise gate methods.

I haven't tried a guitar with the Sentient and Pegasus pickups, so What do you all think?

I like to play rock, pop, metal, blues, and maybe some jazz flavors ;).

Well it's not going to be a Jazzmaster, but it'll be a really cool guitar nonetheless. Are you going to do a "blackened" color scheme?

I'm thinking of a light yellow body with a white pickguard. I'm also thinking of placing white plastic or chrome covers.

The Sentient/Pegasus combo is a lot more versatile than they seem from the descriptions. It will be a Jazzmaster in shape only but (I think) a much better sounding guitar. Love to see & hear it when you are done.

I ended up getting a 12 string Stratocaster copy from eBay (the guitar you might see my avatar playing). Besides the 12-string learning curve, it plays beautifully. I tuned mine a whole step down to prevent my treble strings from breaking.

I have been using this guitar mostly for rhythm guitar work, and it added more dimension to my compositions. I love it!

Wow, that's a big change from the metal Jazzmaster...what happened? (btw, I love electric 12s).

I decided to sell my Stratocaster XII guitar. It was needing more work than whay I could put money on. However, I did put together my Jazzmaster guitar. I decided to go with custom pickups from Buddha Pickups. I decided to get regular Jazzmaster pickups with a Stratocaster middle pickup and a hardtail top-load bridge. I have a demo video of my guitar:https://youtu.be/z14Gd5riLUk

I also added stickers of my furry gals on my axe.
