That's not a fair comparison at all. In fact, Line 6 could make amps that completely emulate the vacuum tubes, transformers, etc. of the very best JMP. It is completely possible. However, they don't have clear models of all the components, or have the engineering ability to be faithful to the real thing, so they fudge it to make the models sound somewhat reminiscent of the real deal. In electronics, if there is an electric signal going in and an electric signal going out, there is some mathematical function that describes what happens in between them. So it's 100% possible in theory to emulate a JMP.
If EQ pedals could do what changing pickups do, Line 6's could do what Marshall JMP's do.
