Seth Lover bridge + Phat Cat neck?

I’m looking for a bridge pickup to match the Phat Cat neck in a semi-hollow guitar. Is the Seth Lover bridge a good match? I prefer a warm vintage bridge sound for this guitar. Thanks.

Tone wise it might match well. But I’d be more concerned about volume. PCs are pretty loud, and SLs are pretty low output. I don’t know if an SL could keep up. If I was looking for a humbucker to pair with a PC neck, I’d be looking for something fairly hot. But that’s just me.

I think they would match pretty well, actually. I've used a Seth/Phat Cat as well as an Antiquity/Phat Cat and both work. Just balance with pickup height. The Seth has slightly more mids than the Ants, though. Warmer still is the Alnico II Pro.

You’re right. I found the Phat Cat kinda loud for being a P90. The PC bridge is very bright which is something I don’t like.
Would the 59’ be a better match volume-wise?

The Seth bridge ain't warm. You'll want to do at least the (A2) 59 or maybe something hotter.

warm and vintage bridge dont usually go together. i think output wise the phat cat and seth should be fine, but i dont know if the seth will give you the tone you want. i love the seth lover pups, but the bridge has some bite for sure

The Seth bridge is the clankiest hum in the line. :P

The warmest vintage bridge hum I've tried was the Fralin Pure PAF. But that's boutique price.

Double thick A2 makes any vintage hum warmer.

Yeah I agree with Clint. A 59 A2 would be a good match I think. The Whole Lotta Humbucker might be a good choice too. Those are pretty loud and maybe a little warmer than a stock 59.
