Seth Lover neck in bridge position?

So I have the opportunity to pick up a second hand Seth Lover neck pickup. But as I am a strat player and I'm currently only looking for a HSS config, how would the Seth Neck sound in my bridge? Any experience with that?

Thanks!

welcome to the forum!

if you are using vintage output single coils it will probably match up very well

Re: Seth Lover neck in bridge position?

Strat bridges have a slightly longer pole spacing than standard humbuckers so the strings might not match perfectly with the poles. It doesn't sound bad, it just doesn't look perfect. The Seymour Duncan version of a strat bridge pickup (or any trem spaced guitar) is called a "TremBucker". (Not available for the Old School Seth Lover anyway. Go for it!

Re: Seth Lover neck in bridge position?

Im using texas specials, and you're right about the spacing - but that only applies to vintage strats - mine is a US, and they have a slightly narrower spacing - import spacing as it is something referred to. It's actually funny, that even on the american standard pickups, they are acutally spaced for vintage and not for the US models.

Anyway, thanks for the advice! I'll go for it! I'll keep you posted.

And thanks for the welcome!

Re: Seth Lover neck in bridge position?

Sorry for the the double post, but what I'm really worried about, is that the neck pickup won't make a good bridge pickup. Like have the right bite and all of that. Are my worries unjustifed?

Re: Seth Lover neck in bridge position?

A pickup is a pickup. The position its mounted in gives it the specific tones. Vintage strats have 3 'identical' pickups for example.

I'm aware, I just think I'm a tad bit worried because I have to shell out a good chunk of cash, and so I immediately want to make sure, that I'm not wasting it

But thanks for the reply anyway!

Go for it. It will work well....If any thing it should balance well with single coils

Re: Seth Lover neck in bridge position?

A Seth neck makes an awesome bright bridge humbucker. It and the PGN are the two best bridge pickups SD make IMO...even if they are "unofficial" bridge pickups.
