Setting pickup hieght.

Just put a SD Jazz in the neck and Little Pearly gates in the bridge of my American Tele. I'm finding I have to raise the Little Pearly Gates very high and drop the Jazz quite a bit to get a good volume balance. Is that to be expected or am I missing something?

unless one of the pups is sounding super quiet or thin and tinny, in which case it's wired wrong.
physics dictates the neck pup is going to be naturally louder.

The Little PG for Telecaster is a single coil sized stack pickup with four conductor + shield output cable. It is possible that it has been wired into circuit incorrectly.

It is also possible that there is a fault. Even a brand new, custom order pickup can go wrong. My Strat-Tele pickup arrived un-magnetised. (I suspect UK Customs checks caused this.)
