Seven string 25.5" vs. 27" for standard tuning

I'm heavily considering having KxK Guitars build me a custom 7-string V, however, the main issue I'm having trouble making a decision on is whether to go with the standard 25.5" scale or the bari-like 27". At the moment I plan to keep this guitar BEADGBE, is this going to be unplayable on the extended scale? Also, does the extended scale have any other side effects, in terms of playability? I know there are quite a few advocates of the extended scale on these forums for the way it "perks" up the low B and for the ability to do A, G, F, ect. tunings quite well.

Anyways, a bit of info would be great. I've only ever heard the issue of the ultra low tunings addressed when talking about baritones so if I'm missing an informative thread about them in standard let me know.

B and Bb is fine with 25,5".But if you ever want to go lower ,it wouldn't cut!
I play 0,10 /59 Daddario now ,and the Bb is just fine!not mushy ,not loose at all!But if you want to play with 0,9 ,that would be a problem!

My 25.5 Ibanez 7621 seems to be working just fine with B and Drop A (I have only owned it for about a month). I have a 59 on there now, but I think I will get a 62 or so in the near future. I also plan on getting a schaller locking tuner from warmoth to use on the low B string to improve the tuning and make stretching it out easier.

All the seven strings I owned I eventually unloaded because of the scale. None of them were really adequate and no matter how much i tried to convince myself it really needed the extra room.

I can quantify it now with the 5 strings I have and have played. the standard scale Fenders and ESP's are like a wet fart in the bathtub compared to the Lakland and G&L. It's a totally different world but it feels SO much more natural.

Best 7-string I've ever played or owned was an Ibanez RG7421. 25.5" scale, and it could go WAY down. I usually played fairly close to standard, maybe going as low as G#-ish with a 70 on the bottom. I never had any problems with the scale, although I do not dislike the long scale guitars in the least.

I don't think regular scale lengths hold any definition below the C/C# area IMO. I'd go baritone. I played my baritone 7 against my guitar teachers 25.5 just the other day and the clarity of the baritone scale just blew it away.

Thanks for the responses! Are there any highly "commercial" 27" scale guitars that a local shop may have that I could get my hands on to feel it out?

Also, my other consideration for this scale is just as a future "if i want to go lower precaution." I use 11s on my 6-strings fwiw.

ESP SC-607B, Schecter C-7s (26.5") are two that pop into my mine

The 25" scale 7-strings from Ibanez were always cool as long as they have the right strings.
