You can get plastic ones for a couple of dollars that just slip straight onto passives. I had Blackouts in my RR5 but liked the JB/59 set. I liked the LOOK of the black covers in that guitar though, so put some covers on.

You mean plastic covers? If yes, may I ask you HOW you manage to attach'em to the metal baseplates so they don't howl with high gain? I was meaning to do something similar to a Duncan set of mine but I just can't figure out a way to safely and securely attach'em. Some pictures would certainly help bunches!

Sorry I dont have pics, theyre all installed in guitars.
All you do is slip the plastic cover over the pickup and it slots into place. It holds itself on.
I dont know why they would howl with high gain, since theyre plastic? I thought it would only be metal covers that did that if not installed tightly enough?
Certainly, I use quite a lot of gain, pretty loud, playing metal with my band and they dont have any feedback issues.
