Hello I found this :

Can you please tell me :

a) will this work with 100KOhm pots?
b) will this work with 18V?

I got this old Kramer of mine, and it has SD livewire neck and livewire metal to the bridge. The metal was cool and all in the 90s when I got the guitar. I had tried this and a Dokken ESP, and the Kramer was the clear winner mainly because of the pup. But this was back in 1990. Today with all the distortion available such a high output pup is not longer needed, not to mention its irritating mid-boost and its inability to be played/heard clean.

So I found the aforementioned pup. Will it fit nice with my SD HB LW neck?

It appears to be the 100k volume pot version, and I believe they were 18v only, but I may be wrong it's been a while and there were a bunch of different versions in a very short amount of time. That one appears to be a newer version because of the logo, so I can't honestly say because I never had one.
The one I had was called the Metal Livewire I believe.

What model Kramer do you have?

thanx about the note on the logo. You are right. Seller says this is 9V, so smth might be off here. The Kramer I have is the 210.

And by logo, I meant the sticker on the bottom rather...

I have the LW MET myself and I can't stand it any more that's the one I am willing to replace.

So guys any speculation on the pots value?

will this work with the 100K pots?

As far as I know they all took the 100k.

I would be inclined to believe that the internal preamp will be able to handle it. Just like EMGs, it should give you more head room. EMGs will take up to 27v (Three 9v batteries), but I haven't tried that, I generally stay at 18v.
I'm sure someone here will be able to say for sure if it'll handle 18v, or you could always email them, but I doubt they would "recommend" it, same as I doubt EMG would.

that one is the later live wire II (2). it will be out of phase with a livewire 1, uses 25k pots and 9v.

See the blue band on the lead. The live wire metal had a black band, the classic had a yellow for the neck and a blue for the bridge. I might have one somewhere if that guy doesn't ship.

The raised (unpainted) logo being on the left rather than the right side (painted) is another way to tell them apart...

BTW anyone knows how it sounds? LW neck is on the treble side and very very sweet. The -metal is a midrange monster which I want to change. How will the normal/classic bridge sound like?

My friend I just bought it! Wish me good luck! I will keep the old LW-metal just for the sake of 80s nostalgia! I hope the new one (classic) will produce some nice clean sounds.
