Seymour Duncan Pickup outer coil split wiring method?

I'm about to install a 59/TB4 set.
I'm trying to do coil split wiring.
As far as I know, if apply split wiring as shown in the manual, the inner coil is chosen.(Non screw polepiece side in a regular pickup)

I'm going to split the outer coil side of each pick-up.(Screw polepiece Side)
Each of the pick-up locations is far away, so I hope to make a bell-like sound when used in neck/bridge parallel mode.

The wiring that selects the usual inner coil is shown on the left.
To select the outer coil, can I wire it as shown on the right?

I think the other way would be to leave the switch part as is and wire the black wire on the ground lug of the pot and the green wire on the hot/input lug of the pot. I believe that would ground out the unused coil so it doesn’t become a noise antenna hanging off the positive/hot side of the circuit.
