Seymour Duncan Pickups Suck Period

I've got a Neck Jazz, Neck 59, Lil 59, Distortion, Vintage Rails, and Bridge 59. The Lil 59 is the best one. It's awesome. The rest are average. And they all sound the same!!

Don't buy these pickups. Peace.

ever think it could be you...and after all of those pups you have finally developed and ear fopr tone and some technique? Just an alternative hypothesis...

Seriously, I do have a real question: if you think Seymour Duncan sucks, why did you buy so many of their pickups?

Seems you might want to try another forum maybe? You're entitled to your opinions,but you are also opening yourself up to get chopped on the Duncan forum "chopping block".... :laugh2: I'll now sit back and enjoy another ride! :dance:

welcome to the SD forum, bzdup

one of the cool things about this forum is that SD pickups are the only pickups we are allowed to talk bad about .. the SD company folks made it clear that other manufacturers are not here to defend themselves, so we can't trash them .. but the SD folks want to hear from disatisfied customers in order to try to learn more about how to satisfy more of them ... also, given the 21 day satisfaction guaranteed promise, the SD folks are always willing to let a disatisfied customer try another pickup if the one they bought isnt satisfying them once they get it installed and try it out with their gear ...

so:

what did you not like about those pickups?
which guitars did you have them in?
what amp do you play them through?
what kind of tone were you going for ?
which pups (any manufacturer) DO you like?

You need to replace the BIOS battery on your motherboard. Yours went dead about 12 weeks ago. ;)

Ok...if you really belive that a Jazz, a 59, and a Distortion all sound the same then Seymour Duncan pickups are not the problem little buddy. Now, that that is out of the way...most new people often pop in, say hello then ask a few questions...I guess you have no questions, and I can tell from here that you have no ear, so nobody here has any questions for you, so have a good day and please don't make a habit of making these stupid pointless posts here. This forum has over 5000 members and the regulars on here are like a family, we all like eachother and we all get along, please don't disrupt that.

You are listing pickups that have radically different tones. It makes me sceptical that you are telling the truth. If you are more specific (and intelligent) about your reasons and critique, maybe we can help you...otherwise you are just trolling, which is not welcome here.

whats your gear anyway? you can't just put a duncan or any other pickup in any guitar and plug into any amp and expect to sound good.

We would like to think that everyone comes to a forum to learn about an issue or share their knowledge of an issue. Unfortunately, this isn't always the truth.

Many other reasons can be involved here, ego, a disgruntled purchase, and sometimes there are people that are in protected care that gain access to the internet.

Now, unless you can defend a position, then a one time negative post must be taken as a troll post. There are many good people on this forum that can help you with your pickup issue, if you provide more information.

We would like to help, so if you can take you meds and are allowed to use the internet again, we would be glad to help you with your issues and recommend a proper pickup, one that may not even be made by Duncan.

Until then, we will need to treat you as a tree falling in the forest that was unheard.
