Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59 Replacement in Epiphone G-1275

First post :) Love SD pickups, I have them in many guitars already.

Time to replace the pickups on the 6-string side of my 2014 Doubleneck Epiphone G-1275! Was looking at Gibson Classic 57's, but with the Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59 set, I was able to get both pickups for the price of a single Gibson Pickup.

I used a Shure SM57 to mic my Blackstar HT-Studio 20 all-tube amp. I recorded the output to Logic Pro X and turned off the camera audio so you should be able to hear the differences. The Epiphone pickups are called “Alnico Classic Plus (bridge)” and “Alnico Classic (neck)”. I believe that they are likely some of the best pickups that you’ll find in an Epiphone.

Some conclusions, the SH-1 set is obviously louder, more evident on the clean channel. More pronounced crispness and presence, plus increased harmonics. What’s surprising to me is how good the Epiphone pickups actually sounded on the gain channel. They’re much better than Epi pickups I’ve played in the past.

I hope this helps anyone who wants to hear the differences, I scoured YouTube listening to shootouts such as these to make my decision!

Thanks for Watching!
