Hey all....new kid in town :smokin:
I recently bought a Gibson Les Paul DeLuxe, Guitar of the Week.
Antique Goldtop with mini hums. LUV IT !!!
I'm going to swap out the minis for p90s. Being a big Mike Ness/Social Distortion fan, I naturally like his tone. I also play thru Bassman heads into
Marshall 4x12 cabs. My question is to anyone that uses these pups regarding the tone overall(clean and distorted) with ceramic magnets. I just replaced the stock ceramic magnet pups in my Gibson Firebird V with alnico minis and the difference was dramatic to my ears.
I guess I'm wondering if there is any "warmth" to the SP90-2s. The ceramic pups in my Firebird were too harsh for me. Do I want ceramic p90s ?
I did a search on this forum for these pups and read all the pertinent info.
Any input ?
