Yes, they are hybrids. We sold them, and they sound decent, but IMO were nothing special.those other ones seem like some kinda hybrid. one 12ax7 tube sounds like a pi feeding the power tubes with a ss preamp like the musicman amps
They think its a string company.
I think this was a common complaint. The 100wt Convertible was the reason I found the Forum many moons ago
Great sounding amp, finicky beyond reason
Not matter what we did I couldn't keep it running consistently. It most definitely did not like being moved and for 1x12 it weighed a ton.
Look on ebay. Go into the sold listings to see what they go for.First time poster! Sorry to get right down to "business" LOL: I'll be selling all my gear. I'm leaving the country later this year. I have 4 (!!) convertible 100's (3 combos 1 head) and extra modules. A buyer has contacted me for modules, but I don't see any for sale anywhere. What is are reasonable prices for these modules? [wth tube or wi.thout tube]. Thanks in advance!

Well, I remember some reliability issues back in the day. I never had a chance to try one of them myself, but I do remember talking to an amp guy in the early 2000s telling me some horror stories about working on them.I was told that SD designed with a hi-fi engineer and they weren't really designed for anything rigorous because he didn't have that level of usage in that world. IDK if true or not but I guess it would make sense. The bass amps seemed far more durable.
