Here. That's the new guy, Matt Blackett, playing.

Also, you can hear some SFX-02 clips Matt made here. You can really get the feel for what the "Tweak" control does.

Here's the thing with Europe, you guys passed a new compliance standard called RoHS. It's proper name is Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 27 January. Whatever you call it, it requires that no electric or electronic items exported to Europe contain any hazardous substances including lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium VI, PBB and PBDE. This is a major hassle for anyone exporting to Europe.

The original batch of SFX-03's are not RoHS compliant, so we can't sell them into Europe. So don't look for them anytime soon. Sorry to give you the bad news. Contact your local politicians if you disagree with the directive.

Re: SFX-03 Clips Posted

Sounds pretty Nice Evan!

Any chance of getting some clips of it into a SS or "inexpensive" tube amp?

Re: SFX-03 Clips Posted

sounds pretty good. im definitely thinking of saving up for it. ive decided on selling most of my gear and getting a rivera amp. ill prolly have a bunch of money left over and get this pedal and save the rest.

Re: SFX-03 Clips Posted

Sounds pretty good to me. I'd like to test drive one of those. I'm with Jeff, clips through an "inexpensive" amp, SS or Tube, or both.

Holy crap! :crying: You can't do this to me... Allright... that's fine, it will probably take me about a year to build up my gear budget so by then, you really need to have done something so that it complies... Please :nervous:

Re: SFX-03 Clips Posted

Thanks Evan. Been chomping at the bit to hear this one. I hope to hear it at different settings soon too. That would allow us to hear some versatility. Sounds fantastic.:bigthumb: :arms:

are your suppliers going to be RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) compliant in a few months?

everyone is going RoHS i think. it's just that, many big (and more so with small) suppliers kinda started with the certification late. my colleague (his team) has been calling up suppliers for months regarding RoHS.

Re: SFX-03 Clips Posted

See? This is why I don't ship amps overseas! :)

If someone in the states bought one, used it slightly and then shipped it to Europe, would that be an issue? As a used item?

Not that I'd ever do anything like that....

Has England (Or great britain, Scotland, Wales, Ireland for that matter) signed off on this directive, which was set by Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 27 January?

Does anyone know for sure?

What about Switerland (spl) and other countries that do not belong to the EU?

Re: SFX-03 Clips Posted

Evan, is there any way that you can post regular mp3's instead of a hi fi audio stream? Don't know if it's just me and my dial up, but everytime that I've tried to listen to the stream it comes out crappy.

all members of the EU share the common policies. diference is only internal state laws and with a state law you cannot go around the common law of the union

It made me think... If Seymour Duncan knew about this EU piece of legislation, why didn't they work with it? Is it too constricting? Too costing? Surely there is a good market in Europe for SD pedal that can't just be ignored?

Re: SFX-03 Clips Posted

Thats true!

The SFX-03 makes my Sound City sound like a MONSTER high gain beast!

Re: SFX-03 Clips Posted

Harmful stuff inside stuff, I guess has to be reduced. Relying on "self-regulating" clearly doesn't work. We'd still have lead in our hats, just cheaper from China (where giving-a-damn seems unprofitable)

Hopefully Mark II device will be without hazardous, so that when it gets beer spilled and blows up... you can safely declare " Man I love the smell of SFX in the morning!"
