SG broke.

Re: SG broke.

It's called the Gibson break, and luthiers have been joking for years about how Gibson ougtha simply crack and glue them at the factory to get it out of the way. AFAIK it's the single most common repair done to Gibson guitars, but luckily, once its fixed, it never breaks again. Actually makes the headstock a lot stronger.

Oooh, and I just remembered, I broke my Gibby headstock AND lost my virginity on the same day. So who knows, your mate with the SG just might get lucky ;)

EDIT: Nevermind, just saw how old this thread is.

Re: SG broke.

My SG fell off the stand 2 months ago and split the headstock down the middle. Went to the shop and said 'Do you do headstock repairs?' and the guy said 'Gibson?'. Happens all the time and not a big deal to fix.
