Does it matter if you don't use the springs that come with the Seymour Pups? I couldn't screw the pickups into the pickguard with the Seymour springs because they we're too big..and my pickguard is flimsy, so i didn't want to risk breaking anything. But now, my pickups don't seem to be able to go as high as i'd like them to be, especially the Bridge pup...Do springs matter?? Plus, the pickups are lower than they would be if they we're pickup ring mounted instead of pickguard mounted...is there any way to get them higher????
