SH-1 '59 with coil tapping question...

Alright, well what I am going to do is, I have a '96 Gibson SG Standard (with an aftermarket Lyre vibrola) and I was going to replace the bridge pickup with a Gibson Angus Young signature and the neck pickup with a Seymour Duncan SH-1 59, only get it in the 4 conductor model as I want to have the coil splitting wiring with a push/pull pot. Now I was making a few phone calls and one guy said that the 59 wouldn't be good for the coil splitting, as it would be far too low of output and would get very muddy. But I called another guy and he said he didn't think I'd have any problem at all, but he didn't have any experience with the coil splitting with the pickup. Have any of you guys had any experience with coil tapping with the 59 humbucker, and do you think it would work alright? Any help would be much appreciated, and thanks.

My guitar is an all mahogany guitar , i have 2 '59 pu's in it, both have separate coil taps . it sounds great , very clear and clean tone. obviously when you tap a humbucker you will loose output and therefore you will notice a volume drop but that will happen with any pickup. Over it sounds great , go for it :fing2:

Yep, splitting a "59" will work fine. It won't be real high output but will sound fine and for sure not be muddy ...
