ok i just bought an SH-13 Dimebucker and im wondering how to install it into my Epiphone LP2.

im a bit confused about the diagram that came with it as it dosnt specify realy how i am to install into a guitar with one volume 1 tone and a 3-way selector. green, black, red, white and silver. and i couldnt make heads or tails of it.. i had more ease with my emg's but for a passive pickup this baby is poking my brain.

any help would be soooo greatly appreciated!

Re: SH-13 Wiring Diagram

Connect the black wire to the volume pot terminal where the original pickup was connected.

Connect the green and plain wires to the volume pot chassis.

Connect the red and white wires together, solder them and tape them off. In this case they won't get connected to the guitar.

Re: SH-13 Wiring Diagram

so dont even use red and white?

basicly what i did was cut the origonal epi cable about 5 inches from the selector where it's connected at and was looking to just attach it there like all m other passives but i was wrong

Re: SH-13 Wiring Diagram

ok another question for the sh-13.

now that i have it installed... how do i go about getting rid of the noise the thing makes?...

it's grounded and it's been soldered in place exactly as the diagram shows.

but there is still a very gross amount of buzz and hum, plus it's not even close to being as bright and heavy sounding as my epi's old neck PU.

Re: SH-13 Wiring Diagram

I'm more concerned for hearing that the dimebucker is humming and buzzing, like i only get noise from it when i have stupid amounts of gain, like running a distortion pedal into the distortion channel of the amp.
