I have a Seymour Duncan SH-2 & SH-4 Installed in my gibson les paul and im wanting to boost both pickups. I have an EMG PA2 (preamp booster) that i used to have connected to my EMG 81 & 85. I know to boost both passive seymour's with it im going to need to connect it to the guitars output but im having a hard time figuring out how this should work. I know im not the only person to do this and was wondering if someone had a wiring diagram for this application. I also have a regarding this, Want i have to use a stereo jack to act as a switch for the battery?

Yes, you will need a stero Jack IIRC (dony quote me though). I know you need one for using the SPC, EXG, RPC preamps. What exactly are you wanting the guitar to sound like after this booster is added????

I like the tone of the SH-2 & 4 but sometimes i would prefer them slightly boosted, also the les paul im wiring the pa2 into has hole for a mini toggle already in it and i already have several other lp's which are using mini switches for different configurations such as coil splitting ect ect....

Right on! Have you ever messed around with adding one of the SPC, EXG, or RPC, circuits? I have and they are very cool! I dont know why more people havent used these mods on their axes with EMG's and also passive pickups???? I LOVE the SPC to add that extra bit of hotness and output to the sound! Gives it more grunt also!

I added a SPC to a Duncan distortion set one time and it was the sickest setup I have heard in a guitar! The DD's sounded OK on their won but, the SPC just pushed it to a whole nother level!! Good stuff!

I havent had much experience with anything but the PA2 and that was with using it on EMG active pickups. I figured that their would be a ton of diagrams or info on using the EMG accessories with passive pup's but their isnt. I think a couple of reasons it hasnt caught on is that most people hear EMG and think ACTIVE and havent given much thought to using their accessories on passive pickups , the other is the fact that they need to keep fresh batteries around......

After thinking about it, I got the PA2 installed on the output of the guitar and i must say that the SH-2 & 4 sound great in an LP as they are but when boosted a bit the straight out rock,.
