I'm planning on picking up a Mark Holcomb PRS here within the next couple of weeks (when Sweetwater finally gets them back in stock) and was wondering how the SH-5 matches up against the Omega. The reason I ask is because of all of the SD pickups I've heard (only online), the SH-5 seems to match the kind of tone I'm looking for.
Which is:
The only con that I can think of is that it's a little sizzly and fizzly on the high end. Can I expect these things from the Omega bridge pickup? Does anyone have any experience with these two pickups?
Which is:
- Hot, but has the ability to clean up very nicely without have to mess with volume or tone knobs
- Versatile for many styles of music
- Good clarity/note separation under high gain
- Good attack and bite
