Shadow Killpot

I was looking at one of these so that I don't have to clutter the controls of my Strat, but I have seen some bad reviews on them. You can tell that a good bit of the bad reviews are from people who don't know how wiring them works, but some of them lead me to think these don't last too long.

Have any of ya'll tried them? I'm willing to give them a shot if they work, but if not I'll just bust out my drill and do it the ol' fashioned way.

I installed one in my friends Strat and it's been in good working order for close to 10 years now.

He does have two complaints about it though.

The first is that he doesn't like the taper... Says it's really quiet from 0-7 and then all the volume comes on from 7-10.

The second is that he says he accidentally kills the signal when trying to do volume swells. I reckon he's a little clumsy or heavy handed because I never had that problem when playing his guitar. IMO the design is strudy enough that you have to actively press it down to kill the signal.

So... I liked it, but my friend is tired of it now.
