Shielding Tape

I am working on shielding components in my electrical guitar. I read somewhere that aluminum shielding tape is less practical than copper or brass (Im not sure which) due to the fact that two pieces should not touch each other due to conductivity. Is this true? If this is the case which of the three should I use (I would like the tape to overlap safely)?

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Shielding Tape

I think the copper is preferred, but I've also heard that standard HVAC tape (you can get it at Home Depot) works fine. The only downside of aluminum is that you can't solder to it.
