Shipping pickup internationally $$$$$

I have checked UPS, FED eX, and USPS for rates. Florida to Brazil for a small 5x5x5 box less than 1 LBS and declared value at $25, and the shipping is $55-$70!!!! I must be doing something wrong. I just bought a Hot Rails neck for JP and now I don't want to go broke shipping it to Brazil.

Funny, I sent him my JBJr from Germany to Brazil as a normal small package, and only paid 10-20 dollars back then, about this time last year...

If you want, send it to me, should cost under 20 bucks´via USPS Airmail. I have a CD I need to send him, I´ll just drop the pickup in with it. I know for a fact that the CD went over for 15 bucks, and for JP I´d take another 5 or 10$ hit

you all will FINISH(Almost finish) my guitars setups.
i´ll send my fender to another STATE for a professional to do the job .
SHE needs change the FRETS, (they are vintage and small), repaint.and make a new pickguard HH, route for 2 pots, and change the 5 way switchto a 3way.

I called USPS and the Global Priority mail seems the best and cheapest. 4-6 days and around $5.00. I don't know if that means I'll get a tracking #, but this is a drastic difference from $70!!!! How can the rates vary that much? I usually ship everything in the continental US via Fed Ex as they have the best rates (I havent checked into DHL yet) but for international they weren't so great...

Yeah, USPS Priority is the way to go...I sent that Brazilian freak a pickup myself!

I've sold a few lately...One to canada and that was about $8 and a set to the UK and that was $12...both via usps global priority. It can get cheaper, but then it takes longer to arrive.

I charge a flat $20. shipping for one pickup and $25. for two or more on international orders, shipped via AIRMAIL PRIORITY. That includes full insurance. I would never ship anything overseas or to a another country without insurance, and that adds a few bucks too.

You know, it takes time and money to buy a box and packing material, process the order, pack it carefully, label it, drive it to the post office, fill out customs forms, stand in line, wait for the clerk to fill out thier part of the custom forms, get back in your truck and drive back home or to your shop again...all of which some customers seem to resent paying for.

But $70. shipping is nuts!
