Shop Floor Custom

Re: Shop Floor Custom

Got my neck pickup yesterday! I haven't installed it yet. I'm considering wiring it in parallel. If the sh6N is anything like the black winter neck then i reckon it will be super loud.

You can always wire a switch or push pull pot that allows you to go between series and parallel.

I have both, albeit in different guitars. The BW-N is hotter and smoother. The SH-6N is hot, but not as hot, and it's slightly drier, less mid-focused, and ever-so-slightly more articulate. It's somewhat close to a BW-N, but with a hint of Jazz thrown in there.

Under gain, it's really cool in series. A lot less plinky and weak than a Jazz or a '59. A very worthy companion to the SH-6B.

Then again, I don't find the BW-N overly hot. I think it balances quite well with the BW-B.

i got it installed last night. I'm with you , it's fairly different than the BW neck. It's not as hot, and it sounds closer to a traditional neck pickup which is good IMO. It's pretty cool!

Re: Shop Floor Custom

The SH-6n is a great pickup.

Who was your contact at Sweetwater to get these made? I think I know the eBay seller you first reached out to and I had similar luck requesting similar modifications.
