short jam with mesa rectoverb

This is my first try miking a cab- the only processing is an eq to cut bass and highs. Let me know what ya think of the tone please!

Man, that's some heavy tone! If I had to give my opinion I'd say "me likey". I'm not a death metal guy but for that style of music I think it's a great tone. Are you driving it with a pre-amp?

No pre-amp. The full chain is shecter->jazz bridge->digitech badmonkey- drive 12, treble 12, bass 12, gain off-> rectoverb on modern gain-> marshall 1960a->two sm57's fredman style-> saffire pro 26->logic 8

The slider was turned down and I had no limiter on the master bus, so it needs to be turned up loud. Also, the two mics were blended on stereo tracks which got hard panned after double tracking. I think next time I should just record a separate mono track for each mic, and probably only use the on axis mic for solos to help them cut through the mix. Was it perhaps a touch undergained?

What series of rectoverb do you have? Series 1 = (reverb on the back of amp)..... Series 2 = (reverb on the front)...... Just curious....
