I just got back from a week in Seattle during which I headed down to Bass Northwest (despite looking like it's from 1995 they do update the website regularly). I stopped in there a couple years ago and had been itching to go back. As you might guess from the store name it's all bass all the time there and they have some really cool items in stock. The guys there are super helpful and down to earth and are happy to grab you anything you want to play. If you're in the area and are looking for a cool shop to hit or are looking for some hard-to-find bass item I highly recommend them!
I played a cool chambered P-bass with a J-style neck by local luthier Mike Lull that was shockingly light and smooth as butter:
But the one I really wanted to leave with was the 1978 Fender P. It pretty well just played itself and the old Dimarzio pickup had a really cool growl.
