Show me some creative pickguard SHAPES for a tele-ish guitar

Re: Show me some creative pickguard SHAPES for a tele-ish guitar

When you get it made, post a pic for us. :thumbsup

Well, here it is. It's not really a Tele anymore but it's just what I wanted. The holy aluminum was actually Plan B. I already had the perforated aluminum laying around and saw some photos online of some "boutique" builder who uses it a lot.
I think it suits this guitar's intended purpose (punk/rock band). Now I just need to find some knobs that match the pickup.
You can't tell in this photo, but the curve of the pickguard at the top edge matches the curve of the forearm cut I put in the body.

Looking good, just hope the aluminum doesn't start howling at you while you play the hell out of it!

Haven't had a chance to play at performance volume yet but it should be okay - I played onstage for years with an aluminum sheet metal pickguard on a different guitar with the same model pickup.
Still getting used to that compound radius! Thanks again.

Damn, Dave! You're a lot younger than I thought!

I know you've got what you wanted. Just wanted to point out that the Backlund 200 is a pretty radical take on the Tele type shape.
