Re: Show me some Jaguars, Jazzmasters, Mustangs
yes, pics plz
If you like super hot output pickups, you probably won't like any stock Mustang pickups... While they're the same a strat pickups, Fender seems to have historically put very low output pickups in the Mustang. For people who prefer to have a nice clean tone and then crank the gain for heavy, this is nice :smokin:
They're tricky to set up and it's easy to get the bridge or tailpiece at a ****y angle where it won't work properly if you don't know how to adjust them properly (many people don't even reallize how/that they are adjustable).
IMO Mustang's aren't for everyone, but anyone who wants a strat with a heavier tone and more Gibson-like scale (not to mention improved fret access) would benefit from one. I think that most Gibson players would be more comfortable with a Mustang for those reasons... People complain about strat bridge pickups/trems etc., a Mustang gives that basic tone with a bit more percussive character and with the bugs worked out imo
Rewards can be reaped by learning how to set up the Mustang.

If you still think not I'll buy it from you :laugh2: Then again late 70s Fenders can be odd in terms of quality (as just about everyone knows), I've seen Broncos (like Mustangs) with neck pocket gaps you could fit a dime in, lol. All the 60s ones I've played have been excellent, and MIJ/CIJs nail the tone IMO...
