this cab weighs 62 pounds and I live on 2nd floor small apartment, so I wanna get lighter ones, but this is my current rig:
I wanna get two orange 212 open back cabs, put neodymiums in em and convert them to closed back cabs. then they would be 35 pounds each!

My guitars have changed a bit since I took this picture nearly two years ago, and my pedalboard is a hundred percent different, but my amp is pretty much the same. I put new speakers in it (Eminence cannabis rex and a texas heat) and it sounds killer. This 2X12 is both taller and wider than any 4X12 I've ever seen. It's also heavier than most of them. But the tone.... oh man, the tone.

Nice rigs, but I think the OP wants two 2x12 cabinets stacked. Thats what I might do someday with my Genz Benz Lynch 2x12.

@everdrone I doubt neodyums will cut that much weight. I think why orange cabs are heavy has got something to do with the density of the board. Much like egnaters.
@Agileguy_101 That's a 212? If yes, that's one hell of a cab! Hope you still have that pinstripe brown strat. Not really a fan of black hardware (chrome looks better on that guitar imo) but that sure is a looker. And where did you get that ampncab?

Neos only weigh 4 pounds so they save like 11 pounds for two speakers! I want the eminence tonkerlites
the open back cabs weigh 45 pounds, so I would convert them to closed back and put the neo speakers in.

Technically a full stack would be four 2x12 cabs and a head.

Yeah, it's a 2x12. For a long time I thought it was a Bassman cab, but now I'm pretty sure it's a Bandmaster cab. I don't really want a smaller cab anyway, not for the music my band plays.
Yeah, I still have the neck thru strat. The only change I made to that one was replacing the blade switch with a LP toggle, as you can see here. It has a PG in the neck and a PG+ in the bridge. Sounds absolutely fantastic. The guitar came with black hardware and I prefer it that way, I think chrome would just pop too much. I completely overhauled my Fender though, the details are in this thread.
I got the amp and cab on craigslist, completely seperate. Found the head about two and a half years ago and the cab about two years ago. Complete coincidence that they're both drip edge era. Got the cab unloaded for $150 and the head for $450.

If you count the 2x12 combo I have a full stack of 2x12s there, then a second one with the 4x12 & 2x12+15.

I thought I saw a pic of your rig under a 412, what a MONSTROSITY
stacking higher is better for the sound, I know that is how tc electronics markets their bass cabs, I wanna stack sideways just to be goofy if no chance someone will knock em over:

Slightly obscured by Lesters but I like to use my Marshall 2104 combo stacked with a 1936 cab. Essentially a 50w half stack but I get the spread of the open backed combo combined with the stronger bottom end from the closed back cab. And I don't have to shift a 4x12 (though the combo is ridiculously heavy for lifting with the single handle on top
).
