I already have Mayones Regius 6, enough dream guitar for me. I could replace the pups though. I really dislike JB.

I'd like to run it through a 6505 stack & TS but... I hope Axe FX will do it for me ;)

You say you don't like cheap gear, but the Schecter Damien is only one step from the cheapest thing they make.

And by contrast the Meshuggah M8 is made by hand in the Ibanez custom shop. If you can even get hold of one I've heard they cost $6,000+. And one Lundgren M8 pickup is €240.

Surely the Schecter Hellraiser/Blackjack 7/8s or Ibanez Prestige 7/8s are the best middle ground?
(I'm not familiar with what ESP/LTD does in this territory, but the three Whitechapel signature guitars and the Buz McGrath sig all look nice, and they make lots more besides...)

I'm aware the price of Damien...and there's a Meshuggah M8 on ebay...
If it works it works.
The M8 is just too expensive. Think you're just paying for the famous name "Meshuggah" on that one. Writing the word "Meshuggah" on the guitar doesnt change the way it sounds or plays.

I'm leaning toward the Hellraiser C8 at the moment.
The Jackson Custom 7 is about $3500 if you can find one.
The PRS 7 is made in Korea and yields an affordable price.

And No ..I don't like cheap shiot....but if it works it works. That's still important.

I don't care the price really..if its got the right stuff...I'm interested...

Back in my Death Metal years my rig was pretty simple and did the job.

PINK lefty RG550 w/Dimarzio Evo/PAF PRO

Stock 5150

Vader 412

I was more influenced by the tech death stuff though. Cynic, Necrophagist, Spawn of Possession, Exivious

Yep. And I just ordered the Meffer

...with custom experimental mods added. They're going to do something like a signature model for me...It should be badder than Meshuggah's when they finish it.

There seems to be a long waiting list..but I'm on it.

I'll run it side by side with my Nitrane 800.

Still looking for the Axe that completes my journey to the dark side.

And the Bogner Ecstasy Red pedal..my friend's store has one in stock and set aside for me.

I am not into deathmetal, but am really impressed with the new deftones album (not DM) with 8 strings on it and EMGs, so 8+EMG seems pretty compelling
