For what it's worth... 1979 Fender 75. The cabinet beneath is a 212. Sorry, it's not a very good picture.

Re: Show Off Your FENDER Amps!

Well, I won't show pics of mine either, since they don't look like anything special, but I have two Champs that have a story behind them and took some work to get.

During the 90's I answered an ad (I think in the LA Recycler) for some Champ amps. I met a guy at his storage rental unit and he had a bunch of NOS Champ chassis' (just the chassis', no cabs or speakers). I bought 4 of them for a kind of ridiculously low price - I seem to remember $20 or $25 each.

I searched and scoured and finally found a guy in Wisconsin who had a bunch of empty old Champ cabinets. I bought 4 of them and had them shipped to me in LA. Then I bought a dozen special 8" Kendrick 3.2 ohm speakers (to get the discount price - I still have a few of them). Then I put them together and voila, they sounded fantastic. Don't look like much - they don't even have faceplates - but they are the real deal sound-wise. I sold off two of them because I don't need 4 identical little tube amps, but I'm presently using the remaining two as a stereo pair for my rig. I love them.

No pix, but I have a '60's CBS/Fender Princeton Reverb.

This is my 1970 Super Reverb [blackface electronics] and my '65 Reissue Super Reverb along with my VHT Special 6. Love these amps.

Re: Show Off Your FENDER Amps!

Dual Super Dang Tastic! Running both close to flat out would be a sort of religious experience.

Re: Show Off Your FENDER Amps!

I know my sound. Gibson semi-hollows and Fender amps. I'm a sucker for 10" speakers too. Gotta love it. I've only run both of them simultaneously once and it was as close to the void of God as I could probably get without my head blowing up. Wish I played places big enough to make using them possible!

Are you serious? I own a '66 Blackface bassman, but have littel to know experience with it ( while awaiting a recap) and from have just only payed it a few times before taking it out of service, I thought the forte of those Bassman amps were thier Ovedriven Crunchy sound, which was great as all getout..but I don't remeber much headroom or great cleans compared to say, a Pro Reverb or Dlx- although the Dlx is prone top break up earl;y as well like the Bassman.

They get good cleans too. They actually have more headroom than both the deluxe and pro because of the 50w transformers and solid state rectifier--also gives them more low end. In fact a common Pro Reverb mod for... again more headroom and low end is to put in a bassman transformer.
