Here's my custom tele (some guy made the body and neck). It's stained. No paint. Asymetrical scallop on frets 1-17. Regular scallop frets 18-22
pickups are fender texas special neck, and SD broadcaster bridge

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

Talk to us about the switch.
As you know, the tele sound of neck/bridge is not available on the 3 pup tele. Thye 5 pos sw is like a strat. With a simple mod ($3 sw from radio shack and 2 lil wires) not only is the neck/bridge tone there but if you move the sel sw to neck/mid pups and have the mini sw on, you get all 3 pups! To do this remv the sw plate and drill hole for the sw. Find the hot lead for the br pup and run a wire from there to the sw. Then locate the input side of the vol ctrl (wire running from sel sw to vol pot) and run another wire from there to the mini sw. Thats it! With this mod you get really 7 diff pup selections from 3 pups and a 5 way sw.

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

That's the first time I've ever seen a tele with a scalloped neck.

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

Just looked through all 23 pages and realised I haven't showed mine.

It's a 1974 Tele Custom I bought from a friend back in 1982/3 for $150. Back then it had the original case, original bridge pickup and the original neck, but a T-O-M bridge and stop tailpiece!

It's been used and abused, had a variety of necks and bridges, and the original case fell to pieces. I've stripped the 3-colour burst off (sounds a lot better without all that goop all over it), the bridge pickup died and it currently has a Fralin in it's place. I am going to restore the scratchplate to an original style and revert back to the 4 controls and toggle switch in the LP position.

But hey ...it's mine, i got it cheap and i've owned and played it for almost 30 years and I'll keep it until i fall down dead.

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

This is my 2010 Fender American Special Telecaster, Doreen. She's loaded with a Jerry Donahue birdge pickup and a SD Vintage Tele neck pickup.

This is my newest addition, Estella. She started off as a 2011 Fender Blacktop Telecaster. I loaded her with a Pearly Gates bridge humbucker and an Alnico II Pro neck humbucker. I also upgraded the electronics to 500K CTS pots and a MIA Fender 3-way switch, wired up to 50's wiring.

Here's a shot of them together with my other Tele, my cat named Tele :D

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

Here's mine after a few mods; a few battle scars, a mint green pickguard, and a 4-way switch.
