Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

...Here's my MIM Nashville Tele (as seen in my avatar)...

Is that Greg's old Nashville from before the black-sparkle MIJ, that came before the butterscotch blackguard, that came before the....

Tell me how great CAR looks - I'm wishing mine was a 3-color sunburst, but any 'burst body I buy (Stratosphere, for example) won't have the swimming pool, so I'd have to take a router to it. Just gotta keep telling myself, "Ultimate platform for experimenting... ultimate platform for experimenting... ultimate platform for experimenting..."

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

Sorry, but these guitars some of you posted with dual humbuckers....NOT TELES !!!!

They're Tele shaped guitars!!!!

I'll let the mini in the neck ones slide, but not 2 humbuckers.
Nothing Tele about them but the shape

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

This is a great playing guitars dudes and was fun to mod! Veddy sweet indeed.

+1

Here's my MIM Nashville Tele (as seen in my avatar)
Specs: 5-way switching... SSL1 in the Neck, APS-1 in the Middle Position, a Jerry Donahue in the Bridge ... it's a twangin' tele that gets some sweet strat sounds as well!

I made/engraved the pickguard myself out of a piece of lucite which I reverse engraved so all the design you see is on the bottom of the pickguard

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

That looks badass man.

Thanks man, I love the look of it... glad others do too

that custom engraved pickguard is an absolute work of art.

thanks again, I kinda treat it like art sometimes... I do it in my spare time (my dad owns a shop) and I've gotten pretty decent at it over the years and I like to do little projects from time to time now-a-days

Is that Greg's old Nashville from before the black-sparkle MIJ, that came before the butterscotch blackguard, that came before the....

No, it's not Greg's old one... but I did do the pickguard on his sparklecaster (one of my favorite looking guitars/pickguard combos EVER!)

Yeah... Props to Greg who helped wire it all up and mod the crap out of it! Thanks!

This is my highway 1 tele not too long after I got it. It's got a set of Texas special tele pickups in it and I love this guitar so much.

Here's another shot with my strat that is long gone.

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

This one's been Frankentele'd alot. It originally had Fender Widerange humbuckers. Currently is has a 59n with A2 magnet and a Phat Cat bridge.
Also currently using flatwound strings.

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

this thread is hot!

+1. I thought it would be when I started it, and I daresay I was dayum right!! Glad you think so too! Wouldn't be quite as hot without your Tele in it (or any of the other ones posted, I'm drooling at a LOT of these!!).

And I'm with everyone else on that engraved pickguard on the Red Nashville. That's a one-of-a-kind beauty!

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

this thread is freakin AWESOME!!!

but...it has me g.a.s.sing BIG-TIME for a tele in White Blonde!!!

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

where did you get this? who makes them? The tele/esquire proto type are pretty sweet IMO. any info on this guitar would be cool.

I am pretty sure it is a homemade guitar. I bought it off a dude on TGP. I don't even keep it in a case when I take it places. I could care less if it gets bruised and bumped.

Dude that little guitar is a funny bird. I got it from a dude that said it would make a great fixer uppper. When I got it I pulled it from the box and was fairly disappointed at 1st, but after a string change, setup and tuner swap (yeah the tuners were installed backwards) it started to shape up. I then gunstock oiled the neck and smoothed the fret edges a good bit. If you look for more that 2 seconds you see pretty quick some inaccuracies when compared to Leo's original Snakehead Esquire prototype. It is close enough to instantly tell what it is though.

I must say that this little guitar with all of its rough edges is one of my favorite guitars of all time. It plays and feels so right in my hands. It is made of Pine and the PUP is a Lindy Fralin SP-43 which is just balls for days. Being made of Pine this entire guitar weighs barely over 5 pounds too. I call it my little rock' n' roll crunch machine.

+1 to Hoss. In my considered opinion, as long as the pickup is mounted to the bridge, IT'S A TELE. I draw the line at Strat-style hardtails, unless we're talking about a dual-hum Thinline.

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

the '51 Caster project tele

Started out from a Fender Lite Ash Tele, and is now completely rebuilt into a Nocaster replica. New allparts FAT neck and original body stripped, reliced and re lacquered with nitro. Original Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro's and bridge is about the only stock parts left.

Re: Show Off Your TELECASTERS!!!

This thread is missing a Tele - I forget which forum member it is, but someone has an awesome dark blue bound (Warmoth, I believe) Tele with (again, I believe) an SD Minibucker.

It is a beauty and needs to be here...
