This is my only "Vintage" guitar. It's a 1978 Studio ST50. Active electronics, 24 frets, brass nut, one piece body. Weights a million pounds.

Had a Studio that same color back in the 80's - no battery, though. That guitar ROCKED. Those original Ibanez V2 pickups had a great honking rock tone, and are arguably more collectible than the guitar.

RG520QS. The QS stands for quilted sapele, over mahogany. Stable multi-piece neck. DiMarzio Evolution neck and bridge. Edge trem.

AFJ957. Plays and sounds great unplugged. Sounds even better plugged in.

RG270DX. This is the longest-surviving electric guitar in my current collection. Neck refinished and glued in. Rosewood dyed black. Last four frets scalloped. Sperzel locking tuners. Floyd Rose Original. Nut converted to top mount. EMG 89R, SA, and 81 (bridge). Push-pull for splitting neck pickup.

If I were you, I'd yank that neck pickup and put a nuther plain cover in it's place to reduce string pull-although i see you do have it lowered.It would also look a crapton better. Of course, i'm not you.;

Great guitar man!! How a decent Ibanez should look like! Are the strings purple color ?

In regards to the butterflies - I assume those are stickers, but it would be sick to have something like that painted on.

on an unrelated note - when I got my 550 the shop also had a one-off NAM special Ibby strat with painted graphics with sort of abstract art - the art was mimic'ed in the inlays too. I should have gotten that one given its rarity, but I think it was pretty pricey to me at the time.

Yeah, those are stickers. I found them at the supermarket while I was looking for the popcorn.
