'56 = P90s?

p90s, huge neck, maybe 8 lbs, bridge and tailpiece vs the single stoptail on the '54. freakin great guitar that, alas, someone else is enjoying

i loved those johnny a guitars! he was a little dooshy but a damn good player

Funny story about him.
About 15 years ago he played a small club here in Rhode Island. A local bass player that I knew from the cover band scene was touring with him.
So a handful of us went to the show and in between songs I yelled out “JESSE!!!!!” a few times. (He was the bass player)
Johnny A actually went to the mic and bitched me out saying something to the effect that it was “HIS” show and that HE should be the one being called out to. I’m totally paraphrasing but that’s the basic idea.

Also not a custom shop, but I have swapped pickups to a Custom Custom bridge and a Bluesbucker neck and redid the wiring in it. And the neck pickup is on a push/pull for series/parallel. Tusq nut and Graphtech saddles.
