Love that Hello Kitty, I kind of wish I would have bought one on clearance.

Mine, thanks to Mike. :)

One humbucker guitars are like a car with square wheels. Its missing half the tone, whats the point?

More like a car without A/C, power windows, radio, inner door panels and passenger seat. It's a stripped down racing (or rocking) machine! :headbang:

Speaking for myself, but if you hardly use the neck pickup at all, and never use the tone pot, what's the point in having them? That's higher cost for nothing in return (and possibly more string pull, don't know if that's a myth).

Think of it this way: Let's assume you have a Gibson SG with three HBs and on top of that a parallel switch or something. But you never ever use the middle pickup or the switch. What's the point in having that then? Why not just get a regular SG?

I also find beauty in simplicity. My Framus is my most versatile and least favourite guitar. I like single-purpose stuff that does one thing and does it right.

My ugly stick!!! 91 MIM Strat I bought new when I was 12, it's literally had hundreds of pickups in it throughout the years & has been heavily modified! I use it to try out Strat guards I've made for other guitars, but when it's not doing that she's loaded with a single TB-14 Custom 5 & a Kill Switch....

Re: Show us your one-humbucker-only guitars!

Early '80s Hamer Special with a few mods at the Cadillac Ranch.

What were the top three humbuckers that worked well in your MIM?

Isn't that basically the same model that Snake Sabo used with SKID ROW in the I Remember You , video ? Either way it's gorgeous !!!

Re: Show us your one-humbucker-only guitars!

Sabo and Scotti had Hamers. IIRC one of Snake's was a Dark Sunburst. The guitar in that video is a bolt on guitar and they never show a clear headstock shot. Not A Hamer though.

Re: Show us your one-humbucker-only guitars!

Most one pickup guitars tend to be customed up or one offs. Stock stuff is always cool to find.

Love these style guitars.

Warmoth Korina V with Neck only TV Jones pickup.

1980 Mighty Mite Star
