Thanks for your reply...I am about to start a project with Bluline hopefullly next week, and wanted to hear from you guys.....So thanks a lot.....Now should I go with an arch top or flat??????

you will not be disappointed. I am glad I could help.

Are you going for a single cut? if so i say go for tha carved top. His look really cool with a transparent finish.

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

just out of curiousity what do you put on the head stock blueline? The body looks amazing! it looks better than a gibson or a prs job and you did it by hand! Wondering what pick ups do you use? duncans? And i noticed the finished single cut has no inlays do you insert the inlays yourself? Man those axes look sweet! I wish i could own one maybe one day if ig et he money and become god enough to deserve to play one of your guitars!

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

I can't say enough how much I appreciate all your kind words

as for the headstock
here's the front of a mahogany one (without "Gauge" -for Gauge guitars inlayed in pearl or abalone to match the FB inlays at the top, as per the customer's request)

http://img65.photobucket.com/albums/v198/Gauge613/04_small_size_of_headstock.jpg

and here is the back of a rosewood headstock (yup this one's for Fatty)

http://img65.photobucket.com/albums/v198/Gauge613/DSCN0486.jpg

notice the diamond volute at the bottom - that, plus the headstock angle I've chosen ensures there will be no trips to the repair shop with your headstock in your hands - unlike some other company who's name slips my mind...

this is just stain so it has not be oil rubbed and shiny yet - don't worry guys

Inlays - I love a fingerboard with no inlays, but beautifully figured rosewood - I think it makes a statement (as opposed to inlaying a picture of your mother or something)
inlays are very cool though, and yes I do them (Jeremy is getting stars)

as for pickiups - duncans are acutally my first choice because they're a great product, I know the product line best so I can more accurately recommend something, and if I don't know, there's always this forum to point me straight

Cheers

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

Well, you've all seen the pics I've been posting pretty much hot out my inbox. :laugh2:

What mrfjones said was spot on.. the quality of the building looks to be superb, and the communication is excellent. Aaron's a real cool guy to talk guitar building or just shoot the sh*t with, and doesn't hesitate to call or email to give a progress update. Definately recommended.

Do you have any pics of the double cutaways?

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

just out of curiousity how much would a custom built guitar of that quaity cost? IM sure it would be fairly high but well worth it as it wuld rival the ebst guitars of high end companies such as gibson, prs and fender.

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

singlecutaways and double cutaways (both carve tops) start at 1535
flt top doublecutaways start 1335

Cheers

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

Amazing stuff!! How does one get pricing and stuff? You have a website?

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

i just have to say, taht these guitars are absolutely beautiful.

also, that is almost a stupid price for a custom guitar with the detail and the attension given to the guitar and to the customer.

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

As for pricing or pics - feel free to PM me, or email to GaugeGuitars@yahoo.com
I do not have a website (yet) as this is not my day job and I'm afraid that if I did have a website I would just be telling people longer and longer wait times, or saying "no" - which isn't my style. But i'd love to share pics and info so feel free to PM or email or call - PM for my number

Cheers and thanks for all the interest

Sorry but can you two guys sort out your avatar it has got me crossed eyed :smack: - I know Xerxes was there first but this thread with both of you posting one after the other completely threw me. BTW I don't want to be any aggro over this but if it can be settled amicably - thanks.

Back to business so to speak..

Blue line - I admire your work greatly and I know that I would not be able to commission anything this year but at the end of this year or early into the new year I intend to have you do something for me. I presume that you can specify pups and hardware etc and that your base prices would take this into account. Also you would have any problems with shipping to the UK? I would still want to come over and talk to you about specs etc and pick the guitar up.

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

Norman T-I look forward to working with you. I have no problem shipping to the UK. As for specs. Here's the deal, my guitars come with certain things, i.e. one piece mahogany back and necks, 4A flame maple (on carve tops) quality hardware, quality tuners, SD pickups (2 0f htem) dunlop straplocks, etc. If you 1) want to upgrade anything - you just pay the cost of the hardware unless the hardware requires extra work i.e. piezo bridge requires extra time to install and wire, etc.
but if you want to 2) change pickups - that's completely up to you and you can use whatever brand you like, or already own - i just know the SD line best and trust their products. Any hardware you already have or that you purchase because your brother owns the Tone Pros company and you can get it cheaper I knock off the price - no question

Feel free to PM me
