Show Your Les Paul!!!!

Re: Show Your Les Paul!!!!

It's not a Les Paul, but it's a Gibson and shaped like a Les Paul.............. 03 Melody Maker P-90

What year is that? :yourock:

The vintage burst is an '06. The Burstbuckers come out Friday in favor of a set of Pearly Gates. The double cut is a '98, and the SG is an '03. The Marshall head now sits on a Marshall 1960AC 4 x 12 (greenbacks). Glad you like the pics.

Re: Show Your Les Paul!!!!

Iron Horse,

You may have posted that pic a dozen times, but I never get tired of seeing that. Absolutely beautiful.

I gotta learn how to make my pix come out that nice. They never seem to do justice... What's your trick, if any?

Thanks, Lex and GuitarGuy503.
Sunlight is the key, although I don't use direct sunlight, as it would produce reflections. The room where I take the pics has a lot of windows and white wallpaper & ceiling, so it's ompimal for photographing.
Haven't been too active for a while because of school, so I read this topic today for the first time after posting.

Man, I really want one of those ^^^. It's amazing to me they thought of the Traditional with all the stupid s**t they're running out these days.

Re: Show Your Les Paul!!!!

I like it a lot. Nice flames and I've always liked the Ice Tea finish. Very cool.

Or...as an old geetar slinger once told me..."Boy, you don't play the finish."

Thanks for the kind words. I really like your 2006 Tobacco. Is it chambered or weight relieved? I believe Gibson started chambering in October 2006 which is why I ask. :)

Nah, it has the swiss cheese holes. Weight relieved. I'm glad I got it when I did 'cause I don't like that chambering business. They just feel not right. LOL.

Ya I'm not big on the chambered models either. When Gibson started chambering they introduced a totally different idea which significantly changed the way they have been making LPs since they started using weight relief in 1982. I'll admit I like the chambered models for what they are but to me they aren't a true LP and are more of a newage hollowbody LP than anything (like the LP Supremes).

Here is my 2001 Standard, Cherry burst - the colours don't really show up very well. I absolutely LOVE it!

And isn't it odd the stuff that follows you home sometimes?

Re: Show Your Les Paul!!!!

Cleaned my LP up a bit and replaced the gold bridge with a Tone Pros Locking TOM in chrome to help keep the Fire Inventors OCD in check;)
Finally got the neck pup PoorMan wound me in so it looks proper. The TP bridge is fine, I don't notice any real difference tonally.

I like PoorMan's pups a lot. Similar to a 59 but a little more open sounding with some grizzle and not quite as pronounced a bottom end.
