I am a big fender guy, in the UK, silverface Princeton reverbs do come up for sale, even a blackface one is up for sale at moment, but they always USA voltage, the European models turn up now and again, the ones with the red fender fitted voltage selector are hard to come by, my question is, do the European ones come up for sale in the USA much ? cheers.. As in the USA their seem's to be plenty of old fender amps for sale, just wondered if the Uk voltage ones passed through the USA much, cheers

I have never once seen an import Princeton Reverb...
Princetons were really sold as student amps in the first place and as popular as they were they weren't the type of amp that would be sold then taken over seas.
Supers, Dual Showmans, Twins, Bassmen, even Bandmasters and Deluxes were more common in terms of them being sold overseas or taken over seas but Princetons were sold mostly to students.
I have never once seen an import Princeton Reverb...

I have seen a few uk model princetone reverbs lately on ebay, fetching around £800 GBP.. And a few deluxe reverbs, so they are out their, I am going to hang on till another one comes up rather than use a step down transformer, I would have bought the last one, but it sold the day I checked ebay

They are out there but they are less common that say a Twin Reverb because they were student amps...heck, a Twin Reverb is easier to find over hear than a Princeton Reverb...the big amps just sold more at the time.

my princeton is USA, i just screwed a 240v stepdown transformer into the cabinet. Work like a charm. Or you can get a dedicated transformer to convert a US amp to UK voltage from mojotone.
Oh yeh...im in australia...they pop up on here from time to time, so have a look in ebay australia...im happy to forward one if you need.
They do exist, cos the fella i play jazz duo with has a silverface princeton thats 240v 50hz.
this is mine (the one with the stepdown transformer - you can get them at most electronics stores)
and this is John's recently refurbished silverface:

It's very expensive for a small combo. I've bought a '73 Bassman for 550 euros from UK ebay and a '66 Bandmaster for 650 euros from German ebay. Both heads and export models.
Check all ebays often, you'll find an amp for the right price.

I know what you are saying mate... Their are plenty of Old Twin reverb's & bassman's out their, I have had an old Bassman myself & it was an amzing sounding amp, easy one of the best sounding amps I have owned, I really do miss the tone of that amp, it was a silverface bassman head 50 watts, it took pedals like a charm & it ran like a champ, I also hade the 100 watt head, which was more clean sounding, but it was lovely and compressed when cranked, if I never only played at home, I would for sure be looking at using a bassman again. I have a silverface Vibrochamp, which is a great sounding small amp, & I have a blues Junior, the blues junior has just been overhauled with all new Orange drops, new capacitors, drops from 15 to 7.5 watts with both power tupes on, also has a Tri rectifier, tube, tube half power, and solid state, had a negative feedback switch installed, new JJ tubes, upgraded tone stack, now all the knobs go from 0 to max and are more manageable, 2 button foot-switch for reverb and boost, the boost also has a dial next to it, and when it is full on, it cuts out the tone stack on the amp & it sounds like a marshal, it is an amazing sounding amp now, a real keeper. Andy at Rat Mods did the overhaul, and I highly recommend anyone in the Uk check his work out

I would have for sure did the Bill M mods on my blues Junior, But I thought for around a similar price it was easier to get the work done by someone else, the only thing I would have liked, that I did not get was the Presence control, has anyone here got the presence Knob on their blues Junior ?, I know it's off topic, but as we are talking small watt tube amps, I thought I would cram it in lol, thanks for all the advice as well, as I really appreciate it

Watch the best Craigslist markets, Los Angeles and NY. If you catch a great deal on a great piece of gear, you may be able to talk a forum member into driving to get it and shipping it.
You're most likely to find killer scores in the biggest cities on Craigslist. That's just a fact. For years, I've been a bottom feeder on LA Craigslist and Recycler. I find the best gear on earth, and play it for awhile then flip it.
Watch the best Craigslist markets, Los Angeles and NY. If you catch a great deal on a great piece of gear, you may be able to talk a forum member into driving to get it and shipping it.
