Similarities and Variations?

I was strolling through a popular guitar makers website during the traditional "great family nap of Christmas"..
Looking at the options, I was hit with a question that I couldn't find a definitive answer to...

Let's say...
Mahogany Tele HH body & 24.75" neck - Would it sound like an Sg? Close? Not at all?

Black Korina Tele HH body & 24.75" neck - Sound like a gibby alternative?

Carved Top (Mohagany w/ Flame maple) Tele HH & 24.75" neck - LP alternative?

And let's flip the coin...
Alder Chambered LP body with maple/rosewood neck... Alder's a "neutral" sounding wood. Would that even sound good?

Our Christmas usually leaves me sleep deprived and unable to think clearly... so if these questions suck, we'll blame it one that.

Anyway, this is what inspired my inquiry...

a mahogany hh 24.75" scale tele wont sound like a sg. bolt on vs set neck for one thing, bridge for another. would it sound closer to a sg than a typical tele for sure. hell, even two sgs can sound pretty different.

also... why do i always want to say/type "an sg" as you did above? should just be "a sg" right?

It would be "an sg" because you use "an" when a word starts with a vowel sound. SG starts with the "es" sound, which starts with a vowel. An versus a doesn't care about spelling, but rather the sound.

If you want to dive into the psychology of linguistics (I've got a friend who loves this stuff, so I learned a little bit second hand) it's because your brain doesn't like making consecutive vowel sounds.

That is a dope body

I have a Gibson scale neck on 2 Warmoth bodies (one black limba, the other alder), and while it nudges it closer to the Gibson sound, I think the bolt on neck adds some snap that just isn't there on a Gibson. Fantastic guitars, though. I think 24.75" scale bolt-ons are my happy place.

i have a black Korina Tele, with a Fender scale maple neck and ebony board. It doesn't sound like a LP or SG, it does its own thing.

Keep in mind that a Tele body is much thicker than an SG.
